Ascyrus Medical was founded in January 2015 by Dr. Ali Shahriari. He was soon thereafter joined by a group of world renowned engineers and physician experts to develop a unique stent for treatment of acute type A ( a.k.a DeBakey I) aortic dissections. With the support of a strong patent portfolio, Ascyrus Medical has developed a proprietary implantable device that is uniquely positioned to:
- Serve a significant patient group and market segment with an unmet clinical need without any direct competitors;
- Solve a very costly and life threatening problem;
- Have a clear indication; and
- Utilize already existing CPT codes and apply for additional new technology codes.
